HOMESCHOOL BUYER'S CO-OP
Each school has their own unique website list of curriculum that the co-op feels can be purchased by the school. PO's for this vendor are 'STOP PO's' and all items on these PO's go through our own school-approval process. I recommend that parents and ESs sign up on the Co-Op's email list serve, always remembering that while many specials can be purchased, there are many others that cannot be purchased through the school. ESs are to use good judgement when ordering so that they don't waste time ordering items that later will be denied by the school. Products offered have Co-Op ordering deadline dates, so check their website often.

For SSCS product availability and pricing information, go to http://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.org/south-sutter-charter-school/
For OGCS product availability and pricing information, go to http://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.org/ocean-grove-charter-school/

Below are just a few of the items not available through your school's direct vendors, but made available through the Co-Op, or made available with discount pricing (Co-Op ordering deadlines apply). See your school's website for product and pricing information:

K 12, INC.
http://www.k12.com
4/9/2012: Click to view the 2013 Price List for K-8 (course only), or 2013 Price List for High School (course with teacher support/grading), which uses the Home/Independent Study pricing, and should reflect lower prices than what we have previously been contracted for.
1. The ES and parent should have a genereal converstation about the courses and pricing.
2. The ES (or the parent) is to
contact your school's K12 Sales Representative, Terina Lochner, for ordering and pricing help at 541-829-9847 or email at tlochner@k12.com. Terina is easier to to reach by email than by phone.
The ES (or parent) needs to be ready to provide Terina the following initial information:

parent name
parent address
parent phone
parent email
student name
student birth date
courses and materials needed
start date
2. Terina will generate the Order Request form and email a copy to the ES or to the parent with a cc to the ES.
3. The ES will create a PO to 'mirror' the Order Request form. The student's name must be included in the body of the PO. (Very Important)
All courses must be ordered on the PO in full keeping within the student's year IF allocation. Materials may only be ordered for courses which have an 'active' account. Students needing more courses than their fall IF allocation allows, may plan on having only 1/2 of the full course price encumbered during fall semester, and the other 1/2 of the courses encumbered during the spring semsester. ESs must make sure that they plan for the full course price PO to be withdrawn from their student's IF accounts before the year's end, and not overspend their overall year IF.
NOTE:
Refund policies are listed at the bottom of the price list and in the PO Notes. Please follow our school procedures with PO Inquiries for all PO refund requests.
k12 licenses are for 12 months from their start date.

To obtain the great service available from this vendor and to have a maximum school experience, students, teachers, and parents, need to check their emails regularly, respond to questions, and ask for additional help when they need it. Problems can be resolved sooner if the student communicates regularly with their online teacher or with the school administrator, Heather Piedrahita.
Immediately at the beginning of the semester, students and ESs need to inform the online teacher of the semester start and stop dates and holiday dates. This will enable the back-end teacher to better monitor the student's course pacing.

PLEASE NOTE: The school contrcts for the inexpensive 'school license' with Study Island, not the private homeschool license. It is complicated to explain, but the school license is set up for classrooms, and does not give us the capabilities to print out the answer keys to the worksheets for your student. We have tried to see if there was a way to obtain the worksheet answers individually for our parents, but their IT for 'school licenses' is simply not set up to do this and maintain student privacy. If you desire to use the Study Island worksheets and and answer keys, then consider purchasing a private homeschool license outside of the charter school, not using school funds.
ONLINE GRAPHIC NOVELS: In order to access the FREE Online Graphic Novels, students need to purchase a Study Island license, as the icon for these novels is housed inside the Study Island system.
