These online textbooks were developed from grant money that was a part of California’s FREE Digital Textbook Initiative, http://www.clrn.org/fdti/ .
The vendor is CK12, and these open source course materials are referred to as ‘FlexBooks’ becuase the content can be edited and made into printable books. Students may also use the content directly from the website.

4/9/2012: Click to view the 2013 Price List for K-8 (course only), or 2013 Price List for High School (course with teacher support/grading), which uses the Home/Independent Study pricing, and should reflect lower prices than what we have previously been contracted for.
1. The ES and parent should have a genereal converstation about the courses and pricing.
2. The ES (or the parent) is to contact your school's K12 Sales Representative, Terina Lochner, for ordering and pricing help at 541-829-9847 or email at tlochner@k12.com. Terina is easier to to reach by email than by phone.
The ES (or parent) needs to be ready to provide Terina the following initial information:
parent name
parent address
parent phone
parent email
student name
student birth date
courses and materials needed
start date
2. Terina will generate the Order Request form and email a copy to the ES or to the parent with a cc to the ES.
3. The ES will create a PO to 'mirror' the Order Request form. The student's name must be included in the body of the PO. (Very Important)
All courses must be ordered on the PO in full keeping within the student's year IF allocation. Materials may only be ordered for courses which have an 'active' account. Students needing more courses than their fall IF allocation allows, may plan on having only 1/2 of the full course price encumbered during fall semester, and the other 1/2 of the courses encumbered during the spring semsester. ESs must make sure that they plan for the full course price PO to be withdrawn from their student's IF accounts before the year's end, and not overspend their overall year IF.
NOTE: Refund policies are listed at the bottom of the price list and in the PO Notes. Please follow our school procedures with PO Inquiries for all PO refund requests.
k12 licenses are for 12 months from their start date.

Some Middle School online courses require the student to be provided with The Learning Spring's FREE online student textbook access code. ESs are to provide those to their students by obtaining them from the link on the Curriculum Handbook page, 'Online Student Textbook Access Codes'.
2013 Course Catalogue *
Foreign Language courses require two purchases. A Learning Springs contract license with PowerspeaK, and a full or single course license with The Learning Springs.
All Learning Springs courses have the option to purchase a back-end teacher through their Teacher Services. The back-end teacher monitors the student's progress and does all of the grading.

HOME STUDY PROGRAM
These are curriculum textbook and materials-based course packages for home study, grades K-12. The packages center around mostly California Edition textbooks. Most Core, Foreign Language, Art, and Health courses come with a textbook, a syllabus of daily assignments, a semester midterm and final exam, and answer keys. Other packages may not contain all of those components or answer keys.

These Home Study materials are copyrighted and are for one-person use only. The materials are not to be re-used or given to the next student or family.
