First and foremost, read and follow the approved a-g course syllabus.

Every approved a-g course syllabus requires a cumulative exam at the end of each semester for that semester’s work.

For the work done throughout the semester, there is no set requirement, except that the approved a-g course syllabus is being followed. For most of these courses, this will mean they will do the unit exams, or write a term paper, or do a project, or take a “mid-term exam”. or…(Get the idea)?
